About Myself

--

Hello all,

My name is Ray Wang and I am a lecturer at the Faculty of Journalism and Mass Communication of Thammasat University. I am currently studying my PhD in Sustainable Leadership at the College of Management at Mahidol University. I have been doing teaching and research of media companies for the past 4 years, and focus on studying sustainable management of media companies, and how to train future managers of media companies through various active learning activities and techniques. I have organized student-led events, and conducted role-plays in my classes, and am very focused on objectively evaluating the student learning from these activities.

For this ITS community of practice, I hope to gain some new ideas for activities to help facilitate learning in class. I also hope to learn more about how to objectively assess the student learning from these activities. It is great that students are usually more engaged with these forms of active learning, but I also look forward to understanding how we can measure the learning from these activities. Learning starts at the knowledge level, but I’ve noticed many times, that deeper learning can not only change attitudes, but also behaviors. In fact, this deeper learning is also the key to unlocking changes at the societal and organizational level. How we get there however, is still not quite known to me, so I look forward to discussing this question and many others as part of the ITS community of practice.
